Regulatory Affairs Manager at BD

RAC holder since 2017

Why did you decide to get your RAC?

I wanted to get my RAC because I had primarily been in the international side of regulatory and I wanted to round it out. It was something to learn the regulations to show that I knew something before I could get some more opportunities.

How did you study for your exam?

I used the Regulatory Fundamentals book and a practice test from RAPS. I also had the good fortune to be part of a regulatory chapter in California. They had a study group that was over the weekend. So, I got to fly out there and do that and it was really nice to have them outline it and then focus on what I needed to study. I took several months and I felt pretty prepared when I got to the point of the tests

What have been the benefits of getting your RAC credential?

I enjoyed the studying process, just learning through it. My goal wasn't only to pass, but also to get familiarity with the regulations. So, the RAC is something that I did. I think it helped give me confidence. It didn't necessarily lead to a specific role or anything, but I think it was definitely valuable for my career development.
